University of Chichester

The University prides itself on the accommodation we advertise to students and are fully committed to raising the awareness of students’ and landlords’ legal rights and standards student housing should meet.

Accommodation Options are:

Shared student house or flat

All shared house properties registered, must comply with the local authorities (Chichester and Arun District Councils) Accreditation standards. If you secure accommodation from any alternative source (other than Chichesterstudentpad), please check to ensure the property is Accredited.  Please ensure you read the University Private Sector Housing Accommodation Guide for students, before committing to any formal contract.

Private Home Accommodation (Resident Landlord)

There is no such thing as a typical resident landlord. Some are young professionals or recent graduates, others are middle aged couples and some are retirees. Although most students’ first preference would probably be to share with other students, it is worth considering the advantages of a private home arrangement.

Please read the University Private Home Accommodation Guide for further details on what to expect from private home providers.

Homestay host families
Homestay hosts are resident landlords, (some with children), who offer accommodation inclusive of meals and the opportunity to live as part of their family. No more than two students can stay with a host at any one time. This type of housing option is a very popular choice for students who are not normally resident in the UK and/or who may be looking to improve their English language skills.

Please note: Most host families are located within a 4 mile radius of our Bognor Regis Campus (Chichester has VERY limited availability).

Please read the University Homestay Home Accommodation Guide for further details on what to expect from private home providers. www.chi.ac.uk/student-life/accommodation/private-sector-housing/homestay-host-families

Homestay accommodation can only be booked via the Accommodation Office – please complete and return a Homestay preference form www.chi.ac.uk/student-life/accommodation/private-sector-housing/homestay-host-families
